Daewoo Electronics' side-by-side refrigerator was certified as low carbon product. The certification system in this area is the first of its kind around the world by Korea Environmental Industy and Technology Institue.
The side-by-side refrigerator certified as low carbon is applying greenhouse gas reducing technologies, such as improving energy efficiency in the production process and the usage of goods, recovering wasted heat, reducing the weight of products and packing materials, and increasing the use of low-carbon raw materials. This energy-efficient refrigerator of Daewoo Electronics help to reduce 24% of carbon dioxide emissions and 17.2% energy consumption.
Due to the lower less consumption, using of refrigerator for 10 years is expected to save about USD 600.
Daewoo Electronics will introduce a full line-up of low carbon products including washing machine and microwave oven.
